A coach is usually someone who has deep experience with program evaluation through teaching, practice, or both, and is prepared to share knowledge and advice with the student team.

The main role of the coach is to help the team prepare for the competition.

The coach assists the team in finding answers to its questions about evaluation theory or practice.

The coach provides feedback on the results of the team’s practice sessions.

On the day of the competition the coach is on hand to record any unusual events that have affected the team’s work such as an illness or a power failure. However, the coach must not stay in the room where the team is working or offer the team any advice on the case.
